  5.     Old Presidents may retire, but they don't fade away. At least
  6. not Jimmy Carter. He travels widely, and in the past two weeks has
  7. joined Willie Nelson at a gig for the homeless, played host at a
  8. conference on Latin America, and been a guest at a seminar on the
  9. Middle East. Some observers suspect Carter is angling to head an
  10. Arab-Israeli peace conference -- if one takes place -- and beyond
  11. that, for the Nobel Peace Prize. Quite a comeback for a man who
  12. left the U.S. with the memory of hostages in Iran.
